What happens if you release a prisoner RimWorld? ›

Release - Releases the prisoner. Imprisoned colonists will rejoin the colony, while other factions will attempt to leave the map.

For selling prisoners, which is also considered "slavery" , see Prisoners. Slavery in base game RimWorld is limited only to selling prisoners for profit, with no other use. The Ideology DLC significantly expands on the concept, allowing prisoners to be enslaved and forced to work and perform tasks.

Always keep prisoners in a room with one door. No other doors. Reduces prison breaks considerably. Also don't keep them long unless you're using them as resources or recruiting.

Perhaps the best way to recruit a prisoner is to treat them with respect during their stay in the colony's jail cell. Nothing good is going to come out of reducing their trust by beating them or not providing them any food when they need it.

Pawns' wealth values don't add up a whole lot unless they're absolutely crazy. The number of pawns is a bit more important. Slaves have a reduced value, those in cryosleep have a much reduced value but still count some, but prisoners don't count at all even if they're an imprisoned colonist.

Slaves typically won't be happy about their situation and will make repeated escape attempts until their willpower has been broken. You can get a general idea of how low their willpower is from checking the negative mood effect of their "Enslaved" thought: it starts at a -15 mood penalty and rises from there.

RimWorld. What do you do with unwavering pawns? I either sell them (silver/honor) as slaves. Or if I have bloodfeeders turn them into bloodbag factories (take off the legs and arms, removing the fake limbs to leave them taters).

Escaping prisoners will now get fired upon by turrets. Rebelling slaves will also be shot, selectable in the options.

Doors cannot be opened by raiders, manhunter animals, or prisoners (usually). Doors can be held open by selecting the door and toggling the gizmo marked as such. The door will not open or close automatically.

You can force prisoners to wear tribalwear by stripping them, and then ensuring there's a stockpile of tribalwear in their cell/barracks. This also has the benefit of removing their armor, which can be smelted or used to your benefit.

but for future reference how do i go about taming wild people? same as any wild animal. And just like any preditor, if she gets hungry and cant find food she'll try to eat a colonist. Click tame, any pawn with 6 or higher in animals will attempt to tame them and if successful they will join your people as a colonist.

Your best bet is to mark the beds you want to move them to as prison beds, then UN-mark the beds in the room your prisoners are currently in, then order your warden(s) to "Take to cell" or whatever on the prisoners you want to separate.

Toggle on the "Emancipate" gizmo after selecting a slave. A warden will then autonomously set them free, or you may prioritize it like most other orders. Once this is done, they will be considered a released prisoner and leave for home.
